What should you pay attention to for your security?

Protect yourself from scammers

Never share your information with people who call you claiming to be a police officer, a prosecutor, or a bank clerk and saying they are going to "refund your credit card, refund your points, refund your bank charges, or similar" and who ask you to tell them the authorization codes sent by Akbank.

Do not open unsolicited e-mails or SMS messages

You must never open e-mails or SMS messages that look like they have been sent by the bank or that come from a different source you do not recognize, that ask for information or passwords or PINs, or that try to direct you to other sites; even if you do open them, you must never share any information.

Keep your computer and phone secure

You should update your personal devices regularly and never install apps on your device from anywhere other than the app store (Google Play, App Store, Windows Store, etc.)

Protect your passwords

When setting your password, use a combination that meets security standards and;
  • Does not contain consecutive numbers,
  • Does not use your or your relatives' date of birth, or
  • Does not use the dates of national holidays
  • We also ask you not to use the passwords you set for Akbank Mobile or Akbank Internet anywhere else.

Keep your information updated

Take care to keep the contact information (e-mail address, postal address, phone number, etc.) you gave to Akbank updated and protect your privacy.

Akbank will never ask for confidential information

Akbank will never ask for the transaction codes such as SMS OTP/SIM OTP sent to authorize banking transactions, and it will never ask for your banking app login information or credit card PIN.
