Akbank supports Turkish Economy through loans of TL 757 billion in 2022

Evaluating the financial performance of Akbank in 2022, CEO Hakan Binbaşgil stated, “For the global economy, 2022 had been a challenging year. We have observed that rising geopolitical risks have further escalated inflationary pressures that affect the entire world. Nevertheless, despite the high level of global uncertainty, the Turkish banking sector which is robust in terms of capital and infrastructure, had a solid and successful year. Akbank also continued to support the Turkish economy in 2022.”

“We provided loans of TL 757 billion to the economy in 2022”

Binbaşgil continued, “In 2022, the loan support we provided to the economy increased to a total of TL 757 billion, with TL 616 billion in cash loans. Our deposits reached TL 722 billion, while our assets reached TL 1 trillion 147 billion. With our strong capital adequacy ratio of 23.2%, we continued to support the growth and development of the real sector. Akbank reported a consolidated net profit of TL 60 billion 26 million, after TL 20 billion 245 million tax provisions. In 2022, we increased our customer base and market share significantly. I would like to extend my deep gratitude to our employees for their strong performance in this successful year, to our shareholders for the trust they place in us, and all other stakeholders.”
